Another story

Another pro

Another con

A story’s flow

The struggle between

A pro and a con

The good and mean

A fight and a song

Suffering a passion

Like the passion of Christ

Our tragic heros

Their wills won’t suffice

Hamlet, his father

Walter, the check

Godot, awaited

All given their respect

All tragic heroes

Loman, a shame

Their confined struggles

Gatsby’s, a dame

However, life could care less

Of the tragedy these heroes face

Their life, eternal stress

Regardless of time or race

These tragic heroes

Names forever famed

Placed on a stage

Their names proclaimed

Greatness their status

Wherever they came from

The whole lot stand tall

All with their agon

Gatsby the hero

Gatsby the fraud

Gatsby the poor

Gatsby the god

Gatsby, he rocks

Gatsby, who’s that?

Gatsby, he sucks!

Gatsby’s a rat!

The man, named Gatsby

Took James Gatz’ life

Who knew a girl named Daisy

Wanted her as his wife

However, Daisy couldn’t accept

For the price was too high

The currency Gatsby had

Couldn’t even get him a high five

A saddening fate

For Gatsby’s story to end

It’s all over James

No more need to pretend

Agon
Gatsby
